摘要

The Union of European Agricultural Cooperatives finds it increasingly difficult to secure South American soy bran for use in livestock feed that complies with the European Union's "zero tolerance" policy toward unauthorized transgenic material in conventional grain shipments. Price premiums tacked on by exporters who fear rejection of their shipments at European ports added as much as $4 billion to Europe's livestock feed costs last year alone.
