Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency announced Feb. 6 that it is proposing continued registration for the sale and use of products containing sodium chlorate and sodium chlorite in Canada. Sodium chlorate and sodium chlorite are precursors for the generation of chlorine dioxide, which controls slime-forming organisms in pulp and paper process waters, and in the waters of recirculating cooling towers.
