The National Toxicology Program Interagency Center for the Evaluation of Alternative Toxicological Methods (NICEATM) is hosting a workshop Feb.6-7 on Acute Chemical Safety Testing:Advancing In Vitro Approaches and Humane Endpoints for Systemic Toxicity Evaluations.The workshop will be held at the NIH Natcher Conference Center,45 Center Drive,Bethesda,Md.According to NTP,the workshop's goals include:reviewing the state-of-the-science and identifying knowledge gaps regarding the key pathways involved in acute systemic toxicity and recommending how these knowledge gaps can be addressed by collecting mechanistic biomarker data during currently required in vivo safety testing.For more information,go to:http://iccvam.niehs.nih.gov and click on "Meeting and Workshops."
