The North Carolina C8 Working Group accused state officials and the DuPont Chemical Corporation last week of ignoring calls to monitor ground and water pollution emanating from the company's Fayetteville plant.The Fayetteville facility is the only U.S.site that produces ammonium perfluorooctanoate (C8),which is a byproduct of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA),and an essential processing aid used to make Teflon non-stick cookware and other products containing fluoropolymers.
