Health Canada Dec.12 announced its Pest Management Regulatory Agency(PMRA)will receive part of the 300 million recently allocated to reviewing the safety of chemicals(see PCTN,Dec.11,Page 1)for its reevaluation of pesticides registered before 1995.These pesticides are being reviewed as a result of new risk assessment standards to ensure they meet current health and environmental safety standards.
