Dupont last week settled an 11-year old lawsuit with six Hawaii commercial nursery owners over damage caused to their plants by the company's fungicide,Benlate.The terms of the settlement were not disclosed,but according to the growers' attorney,it was much higher than other groups have received in similar suits.The settlement was reached a day before the U.S.District Court for the District of Hawaii was due to start selecting a jury to hear the case,which alleged racketeering by DuPont.The suit was sent back to the court by the U.S.Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit after the U.S.Supreme Court declined to hear the case.
