While chemical manufacturers and importers are the obvious entities impacted by the European Union's new chemicals regime,the pesticide industry is also preparing for REACH-the Registration,Evaluation,Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals-from taking inventory of then-products to getting answers about what ingredients need to be registered.According to Jean-Pierre Busnardo,European regulatory affairs manager for DuPont Crop Protection in Belgium,pesticide companies are currently completing their inventories-"exhaustive"lists of all the substances a company uses-and determining which substances need to be registered and pre-registered and by whom.
