Attorneys representing three pesticide manufacturers and industry group CropLife America informed EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson last month they are preparing to sue the agency "for failure to comply with its obligations under the Endangered Species Act in a manner consistent with its obligations under FIFRA."In their April 16 letter, Doug Nelson, David Menotti and David Weinberg, counsel, respectively, for CropLife America, Cheminova, and Dow AgroSciences and Makhteshim Agan of North America, write that their clients are obliged to consider the suit "because of the immediate threat to the continued effective operation of EPA's alleged pesticide registration system."
