Most uses of endosulfan will end within two years according to an agreement reached by EPA and the three registrants of the organochlorine insecticide. However, some crop uses will be phased out over the next four years. EPA publicly announced the agreement Aug. 3, about two months after it announced it would terminate all uses of endosulfan upon concluding the insecticide can persist in the environment and determining it poses unacceptable risks to farmworkers and wildlife.
