EPA last week registered the genetically engineered C5 HoneySweet Plum as a pesticide product, despite receiving comments arguing that the gene it is engineered to produce does not actually qualify as a plant incorporated protectant and that EPA has never classified a crop engineered to be virus resistant as a pesticide.
