EPA has given notice to distributors,retailers and pest control operators (PCOs) that products containing chlorpyrifos may not be used for termite control as of Dec.31,2005.Common construction practice in many states has long called for hundred of gallons of chlorpyrifos to be poured onto the soil at a housing start prior to the pouring of the foundation.Critics argued that chlorpyrifos could migrate through the porous concrete and thus expose residents.
