Police in San Joaquin Valley,Calif.July 12 recovered 1.6 million worth of BASF's Raptor herbicide,used on alfalfa,chicory,edible legumes and soybeans.In January 2006,3,200 gallons of the chemical - half the annual supply used throughout the Western United States - was stolen from a cargo truck parked overnight.
