摘要

Maine environmental officials have released a list of some 1,700 chemicals of "high concern," the first official step by regulators toward implementation of a 2008 state law enacted to safeguard children from harmful substances. Known as the Kids Safe Product Act, the law requires the state to adopt the list, with the end goal of forcing manufacturers to disclose the toxic chemicals in their products and potentially requiring the use of safer alternatives.
