EPA has approved a plan by 3M to conduct an off-site soil and groundwater investigation of PFOA contamination near its fluoropolymer manufacturing facility in Decatur,Ala.The facility has been subject to on-site sampling and monitoring of PFOA under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with EPA signed by 3M and its subsidiary Dyneon last October.
