EPA issued a notice in the March 1 Federal Register (71 FR 10511) announcing that the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry has requested a specific exemption for the use of the pesticide carbofuran (CAS Reg.No.563-66-2) to treat up to 239,063 acres of rice to control rice water weevil,Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus.
