A National Research Council(NRC)report released last week said EPA needs to improve its dioxin risk reassessment by better quantifying the uncertainty and variability associated with determining the risks of the chemical,and better justifying the assumptions used to estimate those risks."Failure to characterize variability and uncertainty thoroughly can convey a false sense of precision in the conclusions of the risk assessment," said committee chairman David Eaton July 11,during a press conference.
