EPA last week made a preliminary determination that 11 contaminants on the second drinking water contaminant candidate list (CCL) - a compilation of substances that may require a national drinking water health standard - do not require regulation,but two other contaminants on the list - perchlorate and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) - need more study to determine total human exposure and health risks.
