Quebec-Alcar Chemicals Group has confirmed and detailed a letter of intent for the acquisition of 55% of Alcar by Southeast Asian consortium Siam Renewable Energy Group for 282-million(PCN,26 Feb 07,p 2).The letter of intent provides for the gradual acquisition of the Alcar stake by Siam Renewable "in exchange for the investment required to build the company's initial polyol plant in Canada...and to implement a minimum of four full scale ethanol plants," Alcar said.
