摘要

Bangkok-Thailand is planning a study on the feasibility of processing the country's excess ethanol production into methyl ester to make biodiesel, reported the Bangkok Post quoting Metta Buntherngsuk, director general of the Dept. of Energy Business.Thailand currently requires 300,000 liters/day of ethanol to produce gasohol 95. However, the country's ethanol capacity now stands at 700,000 liters/day and, based on already approved projects, is expected to reach 4.8-million liters/day over the next few years. At the same time, ethanol demand is projected at only 2-million liters/day if regular and premium gasoline supplies are phased out in favor of gasohol.
