Beijing-Tenglong Aromatic PX's paraxylene plant at Xiamen, on which work was suspended last year, will be built in another part of China's Fujian Province, reported Reuters, quoting Liu Cigui, the mayor of Xiamen. The Xiamen government last year ordered the company to stop work on the 800,000-t/y paraxylene project after receiving numerous complaints from residents about the potential environmental impact of the plant (PCN, 9 July 07, p 3).
