Brussels-The European Chemicals Bureau (ECB) of the European Commission's (EC) Joint Research Centre will on 1 June officially hand over its experience to the recently created European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki (PCN, 19 Feb 07, p 2). ECHA began operations last June as the group responsible for implementing REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) and ensuring consistent chemicals management across the European Union (EU).
