Zwijndrecht- Lanxess AG last week said its plans to realign its Lanxess Rubber NV subsidiary to increase the competitiveness of butyl rubber production at its Zwijndrecht, Belgium, plant. In order to improve competitiveness, "a further reduction in production costs is essential," Lanxess noted. This plan follows an efficiency program started at Zwijndrecht in 2006, which introduced several measures to improve productivity and lower feedstock and energy costs.
