Tokyo-Japanese fire officials have lifted the suspension order on five of eight cracking furnaces at Mitsubishi Chemical Corp.'s No. 2 ethylene cracker in Kashima, which the company was forced to shut down following a late December 2007 fire at the site (PCN, 25 Feb 08, p 1).
