Mobile-PolyOne and Olin have both lifted the force majeure on caustic soda shipments from their SunBelt Chlor Alkali Partnership plant in Mcintosh, Ala. (PCN, 22 Sept 08, p 3). The two companies declared force majeure on 17 Sept. "primarily due to the continuing effects of Hurricanes Gustav and Ike," which caused SunBelt to temporarily shut down because it was not receiving orders for chlorine due to a force majeure declared by OxyVinyls, its sole chlorine customer, the companies earlier said.
