Doha-Qatar Melamine's new-plant at Mesaieed, Qatar, is being "dedicated" as "the largest melamine plant" in the Middle East, the Gulf Times reported. The 60,000-t/y melamine plant was built as a joint venture of Qatar Fertilizer Co. (Qafco), holding 60%, and Qatar Intermediate Industries Holding Co., with 40% (PCN, 24 May 2010, p 2). It is located within Qafco's Mesaieed complex and will source urea from Qafco's nearby facility as feedstock.
