Midland-Dow and Mitsui & Co. have signed a definitive agreement to form a 50-50 joint venture for the production of chlor-alkali at Dow's Freeport, Texas, integrated manufacturing complex.Under the contract, the venture will construct and own the facility, which will have about 800,000 t/y of chlor-alkali capacity, and Dow will be responsible for supplying technology as well as operating and maintaining the project.
