Shanghai—A fire that broke out late Thursday at Shanghai Secco Petrochemical Co.'s complex in Shanghai, China, was extinguished early Friday, the Xinhua news agency reported. The cause of the fire, which is believed to have originated in an alkene facility, and the extent of damage, are under investigation. A separate report said the complex has been shut down.
