Seoul-LG Chem said it has signed a license partnership agreement with Mitsui Chemicals for the use of Mitsui's vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and ethylene dichloride (EDC) technology.The agreement grants LG the exclusive rights to sublicense Mitsui's VCM/EDC technology, as well as to develop new clients and further generate additional sales by promoting the technology with a full vinyl chain. LG had already obtained a full vinyl chain technology by applying Mitsui's process with its existing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) technology."Obtaining the rights to sell the license for VCM and EDC will create a synergy effect for LG Chem's PVC business," noted LG President Churl Ho Yoo.
