Hanoi-Idemitsu Kosan Co. plans early this month to open an office in Hanoi, Vietnam, in line with its recently established Nghi Son Refinery & Petrochemical LLC joint venture (PCN, 4 Aug 08, p 2). The joint venture with PetroVietnam, Kuwait Petroleum International and Mitsui Chemicals is building a complex that will include a 10-million-t/y refinery, a 350,000-t/y polypropylene plant and a 260,000-t/y polyester facility in the first phase, which had been scheduled to come on stream in 2013.
