Pernis-Shell Chemicals Europe BV has started up a new 100,000-t/y flexible polyols production unit at its complex in Pernis, the Netherlands (PCN, 11 June 07, p 3). The plant, based on Shell's technology, increases the company's polyols capacity to 255,000 t/y and will help meet increasing global demand for polyols in slabstock foam; coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers, and molding applications, the company said.
