Johannesburg- Sasol last week said it will shut down 65,000 t/y of oxo-alcohol capacity in Augusta, Italy, for an "indefinite period of time" as part of the comprehensive restructuring of its olefins and surfactants business (PCN, 26 Nov 07, p 1). The move is "enabled by restructuring upstream paraffin and olefin operations, which provide the feedstock for alcohol production," said Hannes Botha, managing director of Sasol Olefins & Surfactants.
