London-Ineos has reached an agreement to acquire BP's vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) and ethyl acetate businesses at BP's Saltend, UK, site, including the Teesside to Saltend Ethylene Pipeline. The acquisition of the 250,000-t/y ethyl acetate facility and the 250,000-t/y VAM plant "fit with the portfolio, technologies and expertise of Ineos" and also "allows the company to optimize existing links between the Hull and Grangemouth sites," Ineos noted.
