London-A British judge has ordered Shell Chemicals Ltd. to pay a fine of more than ￡260,000 for failure to follow safety regulations that led to a gas leak at its Stanlow petrochemical complex in 2003, according to the Associated Press. The company has also been mandated to pay an additional ￡37,000 in damages, which resulted from a corroded pipe at the site.
