Rotterdam-Sabic's Arabian Industrial Fibres Co. (Ibn Rushd) is building a new 525,000-t/y polypropylene (PP) unit in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The new plant, which will be based on LyondellBasell's Spheripol process technology, will be the "largest" single Spheripol line ever licensed, LyondellBasell said. Start-up is expected in 2012.
