Lima-Braskem, Brazil's Petrobras and Peru's PetroPeru are continuing plans for a joint venture polyethylene (PE) project in Peru with renewed memorandums of understanding, Dow Jones reported. Earlier this year, Braskem said the partners had completed preliminary evaluations that "indicated the feasibility of an integrated project to produce 700,000 t/y to 1.2-million t/y of PE using the natural gas available in Peru as feedstock" (PCN, 17-24 Aug 09, p 1).
