Montreal-The Imatosgil Group (IMG) of Portugal has acquired PTT Poly Canada's polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) production facility in Montreal-East, Canada, for an undisclosed amount. IMG, operating under the name Selenis in Montreal, said it will "modify" the plant to produce polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The converted plant, for which capacity was not given, "will be the sole PET producer in Canada" when it begins operation in the third quarter of 2010.
