Longview-East- man Chemical said it plans to increasing capacity for 2- etnylhexanol (2-EH) and butyraldehyde at its Longview, Texas, petrochemical complex. A 2-EH expansion is scheduled to be completed by mid- 2012, increasing capacity by approximately 32,000 t/y. East- man also plans to debottleneck its existing 2-EH production this October , adding another 4,500 t/y of 2-EH capacity. In support of the 2-EH expansion, the company also increasing its butyraldehyde capacity by 40,000-t/y.
