Carlsbad-Synthetic biology company Verdezyne Inc. said it is developing a new fermentation process for the production of adipic acid. The company has demonstrated production and recovery oi adipic acid by a yeast microorganism from an alkane feedstock. Using proprietary technologies, Verdezyne has discovered and is engineering a metabolic route than can use sugar, plant-based oils or alkanes.
