Sao Paulo-Braskem and Fundacao de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Sao Paulo (Fapesp) have signed an agreement to cooperate in the research of bio-based polymers. The companies plan to invest $25-million each over the next five years to encourage scientists to develop polymers from renewable raw materials, said Braskem, noting that it intends to leverage its technological leadership in the area of green polymers.
