Tokyo-Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. has developed a new technology to produce butadiene from butenes using proprietary catalyst and has tested the technology at a pilot plant in Mizushima, Japan. Mitsubishi said it has a firm prospect to industrialize the new technology and a process design package is expected to be produced within the next year.
