Oslo-Yara International has finalized agreements to acquire a 50% stake in a new fertilizer joint venture with National Oil Corp. (NOC) of Libya and Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) to produce and market mineral fertilizers (PCN, 24 July 08, p 1). The joint venture, Libyan Norwegian Fertiliser Co. (Life-co), will be headquartered in Marsa El Brega, Libya, and will be led by its new chief executive Gianni Paci from Yara and supported by a joint core management team of NOC and Yara executives.
