Brunei-Brunei Methanol Co. (BMC) has signed an agreement with the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB), under which BMC will lease a $76-million export facility for a period of 22 years, reported the Brunei Times. BMC, a venture of Mitsubishi Gas Chemical, Itochu and Brunei National Petroleum, is building an 850,000-t/y methanol plant at Sungai Liang, which is expected to start commercial operations next year (PCN, 16 Mar 09, p 3).
