Leverkusen- Lanxess said its performance butadiene rubbers business unit plans to "extensively forgo" the use of processing oils with high polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) content worldwide by the end of this year. Some of the unit's production facilities have already converted to safer alternatives, with all others to convert as soon as it is technically feasible, but no later than 1 Dec. 2009, Lanxess added.
