Houston-BP and Verenium Corp. have formed a 50-50 joint venture to develop and commercialize cellulosic ethanol from non-food feedstocks (PCN, 11 Aug 08, p 2). The two companies will together provide $45-million in funding to progress the development of a 36-million-gal/yr cellulosic ethanol facility in Highlands County, Fla.
