Loneview-Eastman Chemical has resumed production at its idled cracking unit in Longview, Texas, increasing its olefins capacity by approximately 215,000 t/y."The restart of this cracker was prompted by a favorable shift in market conditions for olefin feedstocks, which is expected to continue over the next several years," explained Ron Lindsay, Eastman's executive vice president for performance polymers and chemical intermediates.
