Houston-Ineos Oxide confirmed that Plaquemine, La.; La Porte, Texas; and Chocolate Bayou, Texas, are the three sites being considered for construction of a world-scale ethylene oxide (EO) and EO derivatives (EOD) project in the U.S. Gulf Coast region (PCN, 4 Apr 2011, p 1)."Following our announcement earlier this year, we have narrowed down the potential locations for a final detailed study on our EO and EOD investment," said Hans Casier, chief executive of Ineos Oxide. "The work we have done since March has reaffirmed that the U.S. is the obvious location for Ineos Oxide to consider its next expansion. It is a market we know well, where Ineos Group already has a well placed manufacturing presence that is capable of taking full advantage of competitively priced feedstock," he explained.
