Ludwigshafen-BASF catalyst research experts have developed a new catalyst for the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis process that allows the dedicated production of olefins from synthesis gas. "This important advance is the starting shot for the process technology development, which is scheduled for completion by the middle of the next decade," the company said.
