Tokyo-Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. and Asahi Kasei Corp. are negotiating plans to establish a new company to jointly operate their ethylene production facilities at Mizushima, Japan, Kyoto News International reported. Mitsubishi and Asahi Kasei have a combined ethylene capacity of 890,000 t/y at Mizushima. As proposed, one of the two plants would be idled and production would be concentrated in the remaining unit.
