Tokyo-Mitsubishi Chemical has provided details on the study for the proposed unification of Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. and Asahi Kasei Corp.'s ethylene production facilities at Mizushima, Japan (PCN, 25 May 09, p 1). If an agreement is reached to go ahead, the two companies will establish a joint venture company to operate their respective naphtha crackers at Mizushima. They have a combined ethylene capacity of 890,000 t/y at that location.
