Denver-Gevo Inc. has completed its previously announced acquisition of Agri-Energy's ethanol production unit in Luverne, Minn. (PCN, 16-23 Aug 2010, p 4). Gevo, which plans to convert the facility to the production of isobutanol, said engineering for the mechanical retrofitting of the plant has begun and isobutanol production is expected to begin early in 2012. The plant is expected to have a capacity of 18-million gal/yr.
